The Great Wall of China!!

I've finally found the time to do this post!

A little intro-

When we got up there it didn't really hit me about how much history we were walking on. But when we saw all the old brick work and learned more about what went into building the wall, it came alive. We walked up a section of it for a little while and took the touristy pictures. Our tour guide told us about how some of the old workers from the villages nearby would work on the wall for their whole lives. Then when they died they were buried where the rest of the wall would be built. Overall we were just so happy to be on THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA. It was really a cool bucket-list moment. :]

Here is Michael's take on our trip-

Well, the Great Wall was pretty much what you would expect: a big great wall.  But it was really cool to see and didn't disappoint.  The section we visited had a ton of trees and vegetation surrounding it.  We rode a ski lift up to the wall and hiked around and got to see some cool views.  There were some insects we called the dubstep crickets because they made a "wub wub" noise.  After we were done hiking we rode a slide down from the top (like the Alpine Slide).  It would have been really fun except we were stuck behind some old people who kept the breaks on the entire time.

Ready to ride!

SO GREAT!!!
Thanks for reading!

Currently Michael and I are in China teaching the young ones how to speak English. I like to post lots of pictures and I know reading long blogs can get tedious, so here and there I usually will add a link or two for fun. They're usually bolded :] enjoy!
