Our trip to China was very long but somewhat eventful.
We first flew to San Fran and once there had a 4 hour layover.
Then we boarded Korean Air (which is now our favorite airline)
It was pretty rad. First off the stewardesses had the best uniforms, and they were all so beautiful and pretty much flawless. (probably a job requirement). Our flight was 10 hours to Incheon, South Korea. They fed us tons of surprisingly good food and we had our own entertainment unit in front of us. We played a lot of video games like Tetris, PacMan, Street Fighter 2, and Card Games. We also watched like 3 movies- they had a very good collection. The weird thing about flying through different times zones was, it was always light out our whole flight so it was somewhat difficult to sleep.
From South Korea we flew to Beijing and finally made it!! It only took 19 hours to get us there :]
Once in Beijing we settled in our Hotel and the next morning set out for Tiananmen Square.
Basically a big place to walk around and be tourists and such :] We got a little creative when we decided to mimic some of the interesting Stone Carving/Statue thingys. Unfortunately, our tour was cut short as we were being ushered out by the guards for an unknown reason. All in all it made for some sweet pictures :].
Oh! I almost forgot! There was this man trying to sell to multiple people in our group some "maomobilia". One of our favorites was a Mao Watch where his arm was one of the hands of the clock. To this day I sincerely regret not buying it. Uhhhgg I want it so bad!!!
So anyways.
After our abrupt end at the Square we continued on our tour to The Forbidden City. The moment we entered I kept quoting Nacho Libre in my head. The buildings are so intricate and beautiful, I would definitely want to be on the royalty side of things back then. They got carried around everywhere. They wore cool stuff. And when they didn't like the weather they just had their people carry them to another better palace. They could eat what they wanted and have people fanning them when its hot... but I digress. I guess I didn't realize how HUGE it is. when you first get in you're like "okay, lets see everything!" but by the end its like "what's the fastest way to get through the hordes of people?" Every building starts to look the same. Don't get me wrong, i'm glad we went, its just like....a city man, and it was hot. haha.

Please don't mind my misshapen belly- that would be my passport.

This was The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall. Here lies Mao Zengong's (super embalmed) Body. As you can see- the lines were hella long, so we didn't go in.
Sweet Ceiling huh? The reddish beams were 500 years old when the city was built in 1420 AD. They're Huge!!
Sweet Desk for writing out orders and signing stuff. All the while being fanned..(see!)
For a fee you can dress up in costumes and for even more- fly around The Forbidden City via green screen!
To end our tour of the city we decided to climb a smallish hill across the street from it. It was a clear blue day, so it was really choice for seeing the whole city along with a lot of Beijing.
There was a Buddha up in there (up in there!) but no photos are allowed. But Imagine a one of these but like super huge.
The Forbidden City
Beijing!
Well friends, that's all for now! Beijing part 2. will be on its way shortly :]
